Quality Manager - Mt. Olive, IL
Responsibilities will include:
o Lead quality process improvement for the facility
o Interface with customers to assure we are exceeding their quality expectations
o Provide training to team members
o Lead and manage the plant's Blue Diamond Quality Manufacturing expectations
o Champion Product Stewardship Food Safety process
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement to improve process control, quality yields and reduce defects
o Facilitate team meetings to improve the quality process
o Assure vendors are meeting our material specifications
o Track, monitor and report to management on quality performance
o Be part of the leadership team that drives safety performance
o Administer corporate computer systems involving plant floor data collection and customer complaints.
o Lead the initiative to provide safe product packaging
o Developing procedures for handling waste water
Knowledge-Skills-Abilities:
o Ability to analyze facts and data from existing systems to resolve quality issues
o Ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and implement changes
o Experience with inspection methods and statistical control techniques
o Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
o Written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
o Demonstrated leadership
o Thorough understanding of statistical theory and application
o Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, and manufacturing control software applications
o Key Characteristics for success: Integrity, Problem Solving, Sense of Urgency, Customer Focus, Communicating
Basic
Qualifications:
o High school diploma or GED
o A minimum of 3 years' experience managing quality and process improvements with a manufacturing or production environment
o Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or other technical discipline
o Corrugated packaging industry experience
o Experience with third-party quality audits
o Experience with internal certifications of manufacturing systems
